🌊 A Day at the Beach: A Psychedelic Perspective
🌊 A Day at the Beach: A Psychedelic Perspective

"The ocean stirs the heart, inspires the imagination, and brings eternal joy to the soul." — Wyland
Psychedelic work can feel vast and mysterious, just like the ocean. At Ahavah Gardens and Moon Boots, we guide people toward responsible, sacred plant medicine use. One of the most relatable metaphors for this journey is a simple day at the beach.
Here’s how planning for a beach day can help us understand safe, intentional psychedelic use.
1. 🏖 Choose the Right Beach (Choose the Right Medicine)
Not all beaches are created equal. Some are calm and gentle, while others are wild and untamed. The same is true for psychedelics.
Psilocybin might feel like a warm, sandy beach, forgiving and expansive. Ayahuasca, on the other hand, is more like a rocky coastline, intense, transformational, and potentially dangerous without guidance.
Just like you wouldn’t send a child into rough surf, you shouldn’t approach powerful plant medicines casually. Some experiences require lifeguards, trained facilitators who hold space, offer safety, and help you navigate. Choose your medicine with care. Choose your setting with intention.
2. 🌦 Check the Weather (Check Your Mental and Emotional State)
Would you go to the beach in a thunderstorm?
Before engaging with any medicine, check your internal weather. Are you grounded? Are you in a place of grief, anxiety, or confusion? If so, it might not be the right time to journey.
Psychedelics amplify what’s already within. Giving yourself time to clear emotional debris can mean the difference between a healing experience and an overwhelming one.
3. 🎒 Pack Your Bag (Prepare Your Body and Spirit)
A good beach trip requires essentials: sunscreen, snacks, water, and shade. The same principle applies to psychedelics.
Prepare your body by eating clean, hydrating, and resting. Prepare your space with sacred items, music, or ritual. Set your intention and center yourself. This is your spiritual sunscreen. It protects you energetically and mentally.
Respect the process. Respect the medicine.
4. 🩱 Dip Your Toes or Dive In (Understand Your Dose)
When you get to the water, do you dive in headfirst or test the temperature first?
With psychedelics, it’s wise to start slow. Don’t leap into high doses without experience. Let yourself adjust. Learn your relationship with the medicine over time.
The ocean will always be there. So will the medicine. There’s no rush.
5. 🐠 Snorkel with an Open Mind (Hold Your Intentions Gently)
You came to see a starfish, but the ocean gave you a sea turtle instead.
Set intentions, but don’t cling to them. The more you grasp, the more you miss. Psychedelic journeys are not linear. They unfold in their own way, on their own time.
Let go of expectation and trust the process. Sometimes, what you need to see is even better than what you wanted to see.
6. 🌬 Come Up for Air (Integration Is Everything)
You’ve explored the depths. Now it’s time to breathe and dry off.
Integration is where transformation happens. Journal your insights. Share with a trusted friend. Let the lessons soak in like sunlight on your skin.
You don’t live underwater, and you don’t live in ceremony. Integration brings the magic home. It turns the trip into lasting change.
7. 🫂 Share the Beach (Build Community)
The beach is more beautiful when shared.
At Moon Boots and Ahavah Gardens, we value community. Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. We walk this path together, supporting, learning, and celebrating each other's growth.
Find your circle. Hold space for others. Share your stories and your seashells.
🌊 Final Reflection
So the next time you consider working with psychedelics, ask yourself:
What kind of beach am I choosing?
What’s my inner weather like?
Am I truly prepared?
Am I ready to enter with reverence?
This journey is about more than substances. It is about sacredness, awareness, and connection to yourself, the Earth, and the mystery of it all.
May your beach days be safe, beautiful, and full of wonder, even if you don’t find the starfish.
With love,
Benny

The Adam Story
The Adam Story – Return of the Sacred Masculine 🜂
In the beginning, Adam opened his eyes to light and sound, to life pulsing all around him. He walked the garden in awe, trees whispered, rivers laughed, and the sky danced with the breath of Source. Yet in all the beauty, something was missing. It was as though a song played, but he knew only the rhythm, not the melody.
Then came Eve, graceful, curious, radiant. She moved like the wind and listened like the earth. When she arrived, the world felt whole. Adam recognized something in her, an echo of himself and of something greater. He was no longer alone, and his heart stirred with a love so vast it frightened him.
But when Eve took the first step into awakening, when she bit into the fruit and returned filled with visions and truth, Adam felt a pang deep within him. Not anger. Not betrayal. But fear. Fear that he had been left behind. That he was too late. That she had found a doorway he hadn’t yet seen.
He mistook that fear for failure, and in the ache of his heart, he believed he had to be more—stronger, louder, invulnerable. He thought perhaps if he controlled more, showed less, did more, proved himself… he could catch up. This was not the fall of man, but the beginning of the wound.
So the masculine armoured itself. It built kingdoms and waged wars. It governed and conquered. It made laws in fear of chaos and silenced tenderness in the name of strength. The patriarchy was not born from evil, but from the ache of forgetting. From a man who loved deeply and didn’t know how to say, “I’m scared. I feel behind. I need time too.”
But now—now—the world turns again. The serpent speaks once more. The time of remembering is here. The Age of Aquarius, the rise of the Phoenix, the reunion of the Eagle and Condor, all these signs point to one truth:
The true Divine Masculine does not dominate. He holds. He does not fear his tears. He offers his chest as shelter and his silence as space. He doesn’t need to prove his worth with power, for his presence alone is enough. He remembers that vulnerability is not weakness, it is the doorway to intimacy and truth.
And now, Adam walks again beside Eve, not in competition, not in silence, but in reverent balance. He sees her not as threat or temptation, but as reflection and partner. Together they remember Eden, not as a place to return to, but as a state of being to embody.
The Eve Story
The Eve Story
In the lush garden of Eden, where time flowed differently and the air shimmered with divine potential, Adam and Eve lived in blissful ignorance. They spent their days wandering through fields of flowers and resting beneath the shade of ancient trees, untouched by the complexities of knowledge or choice.
But one day, as Eve meandered through a grove, she encountered a serpent unlike any she had seen before. This was no ordinary serpent; it was a being of transformation, a messenger from the heart of the earth. “Why do you not partake of the fruit from the tree of knowledge?” it asked, gesturing toward a magnificent tree.
Eve hesitated. The tree stood at the center of the garden, and its beauty was undeniable. Adam had warned her to stay away, believing the fruit would bring ruin. Yet the serpent spoke of possibilities—of wisdom, understanding, and the very essence of life itself. “Knowledge is not a curse but a gift. It will reveal the depths of your heart and the world around you. Embrace it, and you shall become whole.”
With curiosity ignited, Eve reached for the fruit. The moment she bit into it, an explosion of colors and sensations filled her being. Visions flooded her mind—of creation, of love and pain, of light and shadow. She understood the duality of existence: the delicate balance of good and evil, joy and sorrow.
In that instant, she saw herself not as a mere creation but as a vital force of nature, intertwined with the essence of life. The serpent, far from being a deceiver, was her guide, leading her toward awakening.
Eve rushed back to Adam, her heart racing with the truth she had uncovered. “We must not fear knowledge! It is a part of us, a path to our fullest selves!” she exclaimed, her voice alive with newfound energy.
But Adam, blinded by fear and misunderstanding, recoiled. “The fruit is forbidden! We will be cast out!” Just then, the serpent coiled around Eve's feet, its eyes glinting with compassion. “You are not meant to fear, but to explore. Every choice is a step in your journey.”
As Adam’s curiosity climbed, he too felt the pull of the tree. It was not just about the fruit, but the experience of being human: the struggle, the love, the growth. Slowly, he approached the tree, and together, they tasted the fruit of knowledge, and the world exploded into clarity.
In that moment, they were transformed. They saw the garden as it truly was—a sanctuary of wisdom, not a prison of ignorance. They were no longer just Adam and Eve but representatives of humanity, stepping into the fullness of their being.
As they embraced their newfound wisdom, the garden around them began to shift. The walls of their world expanded, revealing the intricate tapestry of existence—the beauty of love, the weight of sorrow, and the potential for growth.

What is Ayahuasca?
Ayahuasca is a psychoactive plant medicine traditionally used in indigenous Amazonian shamanic rituals. It's made from the Banisteriopsis caapi vine and the leaves of the Psychotria viridis, otherwise known as chacruna, or other plants containing DMT. The combination of these ingredients induces powerful visionary and introspective experiences. Ayahuasca is often sought for spiritual insights, healing, and personal growth. At Ahavah Gardens, Church of Entheogenics, it is consumed under the practice of religious and spiritual beliefs in a ceremonial setting under the guidance and care of experienced Colorado Curanderas and our collective family of Seva’s and Kokua’s.
Ayahuasca contains DMT, a potent hallucinogenic compound, which, when ingested, induces altered states of consciousness. DMT is mystically known as “The God Molecule”. The effects of Ayahuasca can include vivid visual and auditory hallucinations, introspective insights, emotional release, and a sense of connectedness with nature or a higher power. Many people seek Ayahuasca for its potential therapeutic benefits, such as addressing emotional traumas, shifting and moving ‘Panema’, gaining spiritual insights, and fostering personal growth. It's crucial to approach Ayahuasca with respect, as experiences can be intense, and the ceremonial setting and guidance are integral to its use.
Ayahuasca has a long history rooted in indigenous Amazonian cultures. Its use dates back centuries, with indigenous tribes in the Amazon rainforest incorporating it into their spiritual and healing practices. The word "ayahuasca" comes from the Quechua language and means "vine of the soul" or "vine with a soul." The brew is traditionally prepared by combining the Banisteriopsis caapi vine with chacruna in a scared and ceremonial process, where the brew is blessed and prayed over by the Shamans of the tribes.
Shamans in these communities use Ayahuasca as a tool for divination, healing, and spiritual exploration. The knowledge and rituals associated with Ayahuasca have been passed down through generations, contributing to its significance in the cultural and spiritual fabric of Amazonian societies. In recent decades, Ayahuasca has gained global popularity as people from various backgrounds seek its transformative and therapeutic effects.
This is due to a world wide awakening in consciousness, where human kind is realizing the need to deeply connect back to our native intelligence with the earth. There is a new understanding arising that our earth is psychedelic. She is sprinkled with mystical gifts that bring us a rooted connection to the divine. Using Entheogenic earth medicines in our spiritual practice is a holistic path back to finding our true selves. The curious and courageous are discovering an alternative way to heal, psychedelically. The word psychedelic can be translated as soul revealing. And the revealing of the soul can ignite a gnosis within that has been buried by epigenetics, ancestral patterns passed on through lineages, unhealed emotional wounds and trauma.
Mother Aya, another name for Ayahuasca, has a way of opening the soul that we could never reach in our human form alone. Mother Aya lifts the veil that separates the human experience from the mysterious spiritual dimensions. She is a mirror that reflects ourselves back to us. She is a nurturer who will guide us and discipline us. She will show us the things we refuse to look at for our own understanding so we can peel back the layers and knock down the walls we have built around us in an attempt to protect ourselves. But she knows us better than we could ever know ourselves. Mother Aya is the rope we climb to the ethereal realms. She keeps us safe on our journey through the spiritual dimensions, keeping us connected to the earth while she opens the doors of the mind and the heart so we can explore ourselves and access the wisdom of natures intelligence. You will undergo “spiritual surgery” when you surrender to the medicine, feeling a cellular transformation on a spiritual DNA level.
Many people share that their experience feels as if they have been “reborn” after an Ayahuasca Ceremony. Reports and stories after Ayahuasca sits is that it is a complete transformation and they come back feeling like a whole new person in a whole new world. The perspectives that were once their reality are completely different. They are looking through a new lens and the scope of how they see things now is through a lens of pure, unconditional love for themselves and humanity as a whole. Many claim there is a shift in how they view death, where they have died to their old selves, experienced the other side and come back with a complete release of the fear of death.
There are so many amazing testimonies to the powerful transformations when working with Ayahuasca. The birth of Ahavah Gardens was divinely guided by the ancient wisdom of Mother Aya herself. She has been there every step of the way. Our mission is to protect the medicine, the practice and the people who seek truth. We do not just do Ayahuasca Ceremonies. We build a community of Love, support and connection with compassionate hearts that extends beyond the medicine space. We are here to serve the human collective, unified in the concept that when you heal yourself, you heal the world.
