What to Expect
Your Kambo experience begins with a fast 7 hours prior so your body can receive the medicine clearly and safely. We open ceremony with intention, prayer, and the plant ally Sananga, a powerful Amazonian eye medicine used to sharpen vision and clear stagnant energy. Though brief, Sananga is known to cleanse emotional and energetic blockages, helping you arrive fully present for the work ahead.
Kambo is administered through small, superficial burns on the skin. These are made using a healing incense stick, gently removing the very top layer of skin so the medicine can enter the lymphatic system. It may look unusual, but this is a traditional and effective method of delivery, and it leaves only small marks that fade with time.
Once the points are open, the Kambo medicine is applied and begins working within seconds. The active experience lasts about twenty minutes. Sensations vary from person to person and can include heat, nausea, tingling, rapid heartbeat, a rush of energy, or emotional release. A purge may occur through vomiting, sweating, shaking tears, laughter, or stillness as the body clears what no longer serves. Trained practitioners are present throughout the process to support your safety and comfort.
To close the ceremony and seal the work, we invite in Rapéh, a sacred tobacco-based snuff used to cleanse the channels, ground the spirit, and integrate the medicine’s teachings.
